Wheelchair and boarding assistance Each bus is equipped with one fully-automated and one manual wheel chair set, along with a ramp that can be deployed. Your TigerTransit driver will assist in securing your wheelchair or assistive mobility device. All buses kneel, lowering the front end of the vehicle closer to the ground or curb to reduce the step up for passengers. Visual and auditory assistance Buses are equipped with automatic verbal and visual next stop announcements. When boarding, you may also notify the driver if you have questions about you destination and which stop would be best. Priority seating Seating located nearest to the vehicle door(s) is designated for as priority seating for seniors and people with temporary or permanent disabilities. Depending on the type of vehicle, there are specific areas for riders with mobility devices. Service animals Service animals are permitted on TigerTransit buses. Service animals must ride the bus within the owner’s space, may not block the aisle, and must be under control by use of leash or harness that does not interfere with other passengers.
