Registration is easy and free! A better chance at recovering your device if it’s stolen or lost. Receive alerts if the University needs to move your bike. Free lock removal if you lose your key or forget your combination. Free card-swipe access to on-campus bike cage for commuters. Helps the University better understand and manage the need for campus infrastructure (i.e. bike racks, pathways, signage) Bikes, scooters, and other devices that are not registered with the University may be tagged for removal. Additionally, if your bike must be moved due to campus events, construction, or improper parking, we will not be able to contact you about retrieving it. What to do with your bike... Over the summer Students who are not residing on campus for the summer should remove their property from Princeton University bike racks. Bikes that appear to be not in use are at a higher risk of theft. In addition, bikes in poor condition including but not limited to flat tires, rust, and/or missing parts may be tagged as abandoned and confiscated following the University's abandoned bike policy. The Moving & Storage Agency provides bike pick-up and storage for a fee with optional insurance. In addition, check out some local off-campus storage options. After graduation You wouldn't litter, why would you abandon your bike?If you do not intend to take your bike when you leave campus after graduation, ReCYCLE it at one of the Move-Out Donation Tents.Bikes in good condition will be given to incoming students. Bikes that cannot be repaired will be properly recycled. Abandoned bikes Transportation and Parking Services periodically tags and collects potentially abandoned bikes on campus. BIkes that are not claimed are donated to Cyclab or other local non-profits for parts or recycled. Learn more about our abandoned bike policy. E-Scooters and PEVs Not Permitted University policy prohibits the use of e-scooters and other personal electric vehicles (PEVs) on campus including the use of, charging, and storage. E-scooters and other PEVs seen on campus may be confiscated. For more information, please see the University's Environmental Health and Safety website. Manual scooters are permitted on campus and owners are encouraged to register their device with the University.
