Parking & Transit Maps

Students travel between classes by bike and on foot near Nassau Hall.

Welcome to Princeton University

Princeton’s historic campus is located in Princeton, New Jersey, approximately one mile west of U.S. Route 1. The University’s Forrestal and PPPL campuses are located just off U.S. Route 1 in Plainsboro, NJ. Please drive slowly and carefully when driving on campus. Most roads have a 20-mph speed limit and are shared with bicyclists and buses, as well as thousands of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Due to construction and to maintain a safe and accessible environment for student residential and pedestrian areas, vehicle access to Elm Drive between South Drive and Nassau Street is heavily restricted and available with approval only for essential services via the South entrance. The north gate on Elm Drive will not open from Nassau Street but will open for vehicles exiting campus onto Nassau Street.

Campus construction impacts

Although each project is exciting and will advance the mission of the University, construction will temporarily impact parking and campus bike and pedestrian paths. Transportation and Parking Services is working closely with the Office of Capital Projects, the Office of the University Architect, the Office of Disability Services, and many other partners to maintain safe and accessible routes.
