Under the University's virtual parking system, your license plate is your permit. Faculty and staff are welcome to register up to five vehicles, but only one vehicle may be parked on campus at any time. Permits are issued for a campus parking zone and renewed once a year. University parking zones consist of one or more parking facilities, anchored around a University parking garage. Instead of being valid for a single lot and an overflow location, your parking permit will automatically be valid for any parking facility in your assigned zone. Zones are automatically assigned during the parking permit activation process. Click to view all zone assignments by building. Red Zone: Lots P11, P19, P20, P24, P27, P28, P39, Theater Drive (formerly West) Garage. Red Zone permit holders may also park in Stadium Drive Garage and the Blue Zone. Purple Zone: Lots P1, P2, P10, P13, Prospect Avenue (formerly North) Garage. Purple Zone permit holders may also park in Stadium Drive Garage and the Blue Zone. Green Zone: Stadium Drive Garage and Broadmead Street between Western Way and Faculty Road. Green Zone permit holders may also park in the Blue Zone. Blue Zone: Off-campus facilities, including Lot P30, P31, P32, P34, P40, P41, P42, and P43. Blue Zone permit holders may also park in the Red and Green Zones. Get your permit A valid virtual parking permit is required to park on campus. Visit the My Transportation hub to activate parking permits and update your vehicle(s).My Transportation Living on campus? You may parking up to two vehicles with active permits at your University residence. Contact The Service Point to request your residential parking permits. Please activate a parking pass for guests at your residence prior to their arrival on campus:Login to MyTransportation using your University credentials.Select “My Daily Passes” from top menuClick on “New Daily Pass" and select the “Overnight Guest” pass optionEnter your guest's license plate info (state and number) and date of visit. Click “Next”Review information and click “Activate” . Limited number of parking passes available per semester. Frequently asked questions How do I add, update, or remove one or more of my vehicles (including rentals or other temporary cars)? If you already have a University parking permit and simply need to add/delete a vehicle from your record, you can log in to My Transportation and make changes to your account. Once logged in to the portal: Click on the "My Permits" tab.Click the “Manage Vehicles”button on your active permit.Click the "Edit Vehicle(s)" button.Edit or Add new license plate numbers to your record and click "Save Vehicle(s)."Any temporary or loaner vehicle will need to be added to your account to be covered by your existing parking permit. How is my parking assigned? Parking zone assignments are based on your primary campus building in the University’s PeopleSoft system. In general, zones are divided by the major roadways on campus (west of Washington Road, east of Washington Road and north of Prospect Avenue, east of Washington Road and south of Prospect Avenue, and off-campus facilities). You can view all zone assignments by building here. A small number of campus lots are not included in any zone, as these lots contain fewer than 60 spaces and/or are included in lease agreements with campus partners that limits the number of available commuter spaces. These lots continue to be restricted to permit holders only. Will there always be parking available in my zone? A University parking permit does not guarantee space in your assigned zone at any given time. If there is no available parking spaces in your assigned zone, please proceed to Stadium Drive Garage, which offers frequent, convenient transit service to stops on Washington Road, Nassau Street, and University Place. Real-time parking availability for Theater Drive Garage, Prospect Avenue Garage, Stadium Drive Garage, and P20 is available online on the Princeton Mobile app. Real-time availability signage is available for select facilities as you approach the entrance. TPS will continue to monitor daily parking utilization across campus and adjust assignments as needed. I think I am assigned the incorrect zone, what should I do? If the zone assigned to you in the MyTransportation portal is not what you were expecting or you have multiple campus office locations, your building information on file may need to be updated. Please contact the Service Point for assistance at [email protected] or 609.258.8300. Do I always have to park in my zone? During peak academic work hours—7 AM to 4 PM weekdays—you must park in your permitted zone only. After 4 PM on weekdays, during weekends and holidays, all unrestricted lots on campus are available. The following lots on campus are restricted to permit holders only at all times: P8, P9, P15, P22, P52, Campus Club, and Cannon Club. How can I load/unload my car closer to my building? Vehicles may not stop in marked "no parking" zones or fire lanes, nor impede access to the following: buildings, pedestrian pathways and crossings, and ADA parking spaces.While parked for loading/unloading, the vehicle must have flashers on. Parking for longer than 15 minutes, even with flashers on, may result in a citation. If you need access via Elm Drive, authorization is required at least two business days in advance. Please complete the Elm Drive Access Form. Can I leave my car overnight or for a few days on campus? When needed for University business, faculty and staff permit holders may park their registered vehicle in their permitted zone for up to two consecutive days. Overnight parking for more than two consecutive days, when traveling on University business, requires contacting The Service Point in advance. Failure to do so may result in a citation. Your vehicle may not remain parked in any University parking lot if you have sublet your unit or your housing contract has expired. Consider revising your ride And adopt a more sustainable commute in lieu of an annual parking permit. Bike, walk, or share a ride with one or more colleagues and earn cash incentives.
