Princeton University affiliates and graduate students may participate in University carpools but are NOT eligible to receive the financial incentive payments for those programs. Carpool is your primary commute option to campus* on average 3 days per week in lieu of an annual parking permit. Must consist of at least two University employees or a University employee and a Princeton affiliate or graduate student. Carpool routes that represent a significant deviation from an individual's commute route subject to director approval. * Includes the University's New Jersey campus locations or nearby off-campus offices Commuter benefits Receive $200 per semester* A shared virtual parking permit valid for: All zones assigned to members of your carpool* Designated car/vanpool parking spaces in premium, convenient, and easy-to-find locations. These are first-come, first-serve.* Commute flexibility when you need it We know that committing to an alternative commute still means that sometimes you need a little flexibility. With every Revise Your Ride benefit comes additional options to use as needed. Getting started with the vanpool program Eligibility requirements The Vanpool benefit is open to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff. Princeton University affiliates and graduate students may participate in University Vanpools but are not eligible to receive the financial incentive payments for those programs. At least three other colleagues to share a commute to campus* on average 3 days per week. Vanpool routes that significantly detour from individual commute routes subject to director approval. * Includes the University's New Jersey campus locations or nearby off-campus offices At least one participant must volunteer from the pool to be the driver and the back-up driver. Drivers are exempt from splitting fuel costs Primary and back-up drivers must meet Vanpool Driver eligibility requirements. All participants must agree to and adhere to the University's Vanpool Policy. Commuter benefits Princeton University will provide your group with a complimentary plug-in electric van. Revise Your Ride incentives are paid out at the end of each semester directly through University payroll. Incentives are considered taxable income and are subject to federal and state income taxes. Income tax will be withheld automatically on your paycheck or stipend.
